Inside Sales Clerk, Customer Service Specialist - Hourly Position

Summary

Processes sales orders for material or merchandise from customers or sales staff. Assist customers in solving simple technical problems related to the use and functionality of the product sold by the company.

Responsibilities
Under general supervision, follows order from placement to delivery. Verifies orders for accurate price, parts and quantity. Determines and keeps records of sales order status, shipping dates, availability and back orders. Completes and maintains sales order log and associated documents. Gives price quotations. Places orders with vendors to assure sufficient inventory and timely deliveries. Typically works with other departments to resolve order problems. Work assignments are somewhat complex in nature requiring the use of judgment in solving problems. May be responsible for specific territory, customer, or product line. May assist in training lower level order processing clerks. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.

Requirements
Typically requires a high school education or equivalent reading, writing and math ability in addition to a minimum of two to four years order processing experience. Computer literacy and efficiency in working with commonly used word processing and electronic spread sheet software is required.
