Binder-USA has released a torque wrench for the M8 and M12 Binder overmolded connectors that have the newly designed hexagonal locking ring nut. The torque wrench is designed with a torque limiting feature to ensure the locking ring is properly threaded to its mating part. The M8 torque wrench will fit a 9 mm nut and tighten to 0.4 Nm. The M12 torque wrench fits a 13 mm nut and will tighten to 0.6 Nm. Using the torque wrench will prevent the possibility of over tightening the connector, which could destroy the connectors o-ring.

Binder-USA is pleased to announce the most recent addition of molded eight-pin cordsets to the M8 sensor connector range. The new cordset is a response to the high demand for smaller connectors that can transmit the maximum amount of signals possible. With the new M8 cordset it is possible to transmit up to 8 signals from a connector that is only 9.7 mm in diameter. The M8 connectors are ideally suited for actuator or sensor applications in the automation industry.

The cordsets have an open cable end with cables available in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyurethane (PUR), which have a cross-section of 0.25 mm² (24 AWG) and offered in standard 2-, 5- or 10-meter lengths. Custom wire sizes, lengths and materials are available upon request.

Each cordset has eight gold-plated contacts and have a rated current of 1.5 amps per contact and an overall rated voltage of 30 volts. All versions are IP 67 rated when fully mated to their connecting parts.

Over the last 10 years MPE-Garry has permanently extended their product portfolio in the area of wire to board connectors.

Starting with standardized IDC-connectors MPE-Garry’s product range now carries a wide range of versions such as crimp, solder cup or fine pitch FFC connectors. This extensive range of products is presented on MPE-Garry’s website under www.mpe-connector.de

To have a perfect platform for presenting this range of products, MPE-Garry has produced a sample board where the most popular parts are mounted on. With this board, customers have the possibility of inspecting the mounting of these parts and also of trying the mating and unmating forces together with the different available locking systems. The sample board is packed neatly in a case and will be with every outside sales person from MPE-Garry and their distributors.

To easily get details like drawings or technical data for one of these parts MPE-Garry has installed a special tool on its website. This is called W2B-Selector and every part on the board can be selected with a magnifier. When placing the magnifier over a part, the part itself and the mating parts will be shown on the right hand side of the screen. Next to this there is a “Show Details” link which guides directly to the corresponding datasheets with all information. From this datasheet it is possible to order samples or ask for a quotation.

For details please contact MPE Garry’s U.S. sales office, Binder-USA, by phone or email at sales@binder-usa.com.

A brand new, database-driven search tool makes it easy for engineers to identify the best connector for their application.

Service, comfort, function and clearness; these topics have been the priorities for a totally renewed internet presence from MPE-Garry. With this new homepage the successful connector manufacturer has made a consequent step to focus on the technical and customer relevant needs from tomorrow. A very clear structured layout combines intuitive navigation with highest functionality. The comprehensive product range of connectors is clearly structured into product groups and areas of applications. Inside the product groups the user can choose from a wide variety of technical parameters and find his connector making selections with user-friendly pull down menus. At this step there is a choice of different list views where selected parts can be compared very easily. After the product has been identified it is possible to show all mating parts just by pressing one button. A special “solution view” allows now to show all possible solutions pair by pair.

A real highlight on the new internet presence from MPE-Garry is the brand new and unique application search assistant. With this assistant, the user is able to find his solution just by choosing his application from a menu. When this is done, he just needs to fix a few technical parameters like current load, pitch or termination and he gets a selection of parts which can be used for his design. Also in this search assistant it is possible to choose from a variety of different views to have a clear structure for a comparison of the search results.

No matter what way has been used, when the best product has been identified, the user has now the possibility to set up exactly the part he needs, put it in a shopping cart and forward a request to MPE-Garry. With all these new features the MPE-Garry homepage is for sure a brilliant tool for all engineers to find the best possible connector for their device to board, board to board or wire to board application.
