Connector type
The connector type can be used to distinguish our products for installation in a device housing from cable parts. The connector type describes the difference between connectors that are mounted on enclosures and connectors that are mounted on cables.
Gender
A connector consists of the male part (pin) and the female part (socket). Depending on the design, the male or female part is either permanently installed or are located at the end of a cable.
Number of contacts
This indicates the number of contacts the connector has.
Version
The choice of version allows the definition of certain technical specifications – for example the type of cable outlet or the size.
Locking Type
The locking system describes how the pin and socket elements are joined.
Rated voltage
The rated voltage is the electrical voltage assigned to the connector.
Rated current
The rated current is the electrical current that is assigned to the connector.
Degree of protection
The degrees of protection according to IEC60529 apply to various articles and provide information on protection against the intrusion of water and solids such as dust.
Shielded Option
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) means that a connector is shielded or shieldable. This is required when it is necessary to protect the signals or data conducted by the connector, as well as to protect external devices, from disturbance due to electromagnetic effects.
Material of housing
Depending on the area of application or requirements, connectors are made of different materials. We offer metal and plastic housings for our items as the housing material.
Coding
The connector elements, pin and socket, must be brought into form-fitting alignment with one another (coding) before locking. This prevents mismating.
Termination
The termination type determines how cables, single wires or PCBs can be joined with the connector.

Cable type
By selecting the cable type, a preselection for the respective application can be carried out.
Cable Jacket Type
The material of the cable jacket. PUR, TPE, TMPU or TPE-U cables each have different technical properties.
Cable color
The color of the cable jacket.
Cable length
Our items with molded or pre-assembled cables have different cable lengths. It describes the length of the cable from the end of the connector. If the desired cable length is not included, please contact our sales department.
Locking material
Depending on the technical requirements or performance data of the connector, the locking mechanism is made of plastic or metal.

M12-B connectors are commonly used in automation technology, ensuring seamless communication and power transmission in industrial settings. M12 B-coded connector


M12 circular connectors of the 715/766 series with B-coding have protection class IP67/IP68 and 360° EMC shielding. They are UL-approved and have a freely configurable screw, crimp and cage clamp connection as well as an overmoulded cable of 2m or 5m length as standard. They are available as cable or flange connectors, with screw locking according to DIN EN 61076-2-101.


What is the difference between a-coded and b-coded m12 connector?


The primary difference between A-coded and B-coded M12 connectors lies in the arrangement of their internal pins. A-coded connectors have 4 pins arranged in a circular pattern with a keyway to ensure correct orientation during mating. They are commonly used for sensor and actuator connections in industrial automation where higher data transfer rates are required.


B-coded M12 connector


B-coded connectors also have 4 pins but feature a different keyway to prevent mismating with A-coded connectors. These connectors are mainly employed for power and signal transmission applications in industrial settings.
