The degrees of protection according to IEC60529 apply to various articles and provide information on protection against the intrusion of water and solids such as dust.
IP67Fully protects against touch and against the intrusion of dust. Protects against water intrusion in temporary immersion (depth: 1 m; duration: 30 minutes).
The choice of version allows the definition of certain technical specifications – for example the type of cable outlet or the size.
AdapterConnecting element to each side of which a connector can be attached. This enables the realisation of, for example, control cabinet lead-throughs or a transition from the M8 to the M12 locking system.
DistributorIn distributors, an input current or signal is distributed over multiple outlets according to a particular wiring logic. The locking system/termination for the input may differ from that for the outlet.
Connectors are differentiated by installation type: those that are mounted in a device housing (panel mount) and those that are attached to cables.
Cable mountingConnectors with cable already moulded or for self-assembly.
Housing assemblyConnectors that can be mounted to device housings. These can be fixed by means of a locking nut or be screwed in (requires a threaded hole).
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) means that a connector is shielded or shieldable. This is required when it is necessary to protect the signals or data conducted by the connector, as well as to protect external devices, from disturbance due to electromagnetic effects.
Miniature round connectors with snap-in locking of the 720 series have 3 to 12 contacts depending on the application. Both the 16mm cable version and the 16mm flange version comply with IP67 protection class and are available in black, red, blue and green. Cable connectors have solder terminals, flange connectors have solder/immersion solder terminals.
